- Background of the team and purpose of the role
Gavi Country Programmes Delivery (CPD) – Nigeria Country Team (CT) has identified the need for a temporary and embedded consultant to support the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) to effectively plan and implement vaccine campaigns with a focus on campaign effectiveness and integration. Gavi supports the NPHCDAthrough financial and technical mechanisms to implement strategies to introduce and scale up use of vaccines in Nigeria.
The Supplementary Immunisation Activities consultant is expected to support NPHCDA under leadership of the Director, Disease Control and Immunisationto plan for, implement, monitor/supervise, and document prioritised vaccine programme activities in Nigeria including Big Catch-Up campaign, polio and non-polio supplementary immunisation activities (NPSIA), and introduction of Malaria and HPV vaccines with a focus on integration, cross learning, and institutional capacity building. The consultant should monitor progress towards country targets for supplementary immunisation activities and advise NPHCDA and partners on related technical and programmatic components to improve performance.
