(1)     The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Itungwa – Mgboko – Amairi – Amaise – Ahiaba Ubi – Nkwoelechi – Omoba, 19.1km Demonstration Pilot Road in Abia State. This contract will be jointly financed by the L’AgenceFranḉaise de Developpement (French Development Agency or AFD). Procurement process will be governed by the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations.

(2)     The Abia State Project Implementation Unit Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Construction of Itungwa- Mgboko-Amairi-Amaise- Ahiaba Ubi- Nkwoelechi- Omoba (19.1Km) Demonstration Road in Abia State. The project is a network comprising of roads as stated in the Table below:

The project involves upgrading of an existing rural feeder road having a total length of 19.1 km. The works include but not limited to; Site clearance and Earthwork, Culverts and Drains, Pavement and Surfacing as well as strict undertaking of Social and Environmental Safeguard. The project is located in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State having its Coordinates as follows:

The total length of this road network is about 19.1 km. The work is expected to be completed within 18 months.

(3)     Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procurement method using Request for Bids (RFB) document as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers- Procurement in Investment-Projects Financing” November, 2020- Fourth Edition (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders, as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

(4)     Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the State Project Coordinator (abiarampspiu@yahoo.com) Abia State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) and inspect the bidding document during office hours 0900 to 1600 at the address given below.

(5)     The bidding document in English Language may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of NGN50,000.00 The method of payment will be direct deposit to the specified account below.
